As my dearest friend James was up for the weekend I finally had an excuse to see the Francis Bacon show at Compton Verney which proved to be an interesting experience (though it could do with a few more paintings in my opinion) http://www.comptonverney.org.uk/?page=home especially when I discovered that one of the faux books in the Ladies Withdrawing Room was by Mary Somerville – a lady I’ve been reading quite a lot about recently. Last year The Ladies Salon (see the postmistress blog link for more info) spent a weekend at Compton Verney in the very same room http://thepostmistress.wordpress.com/2009/10/10/open-salon-at-compton-verney-day-1/ What surprised me most of all was the lack of visitors to the gallery – it’s a great space so if you haven’t already be sure to make up an excuse to visit.

Welcome
Hello and welcome to the 300 miles blog - the place where we will be documenting the creative processes involved in producing an entirely new piece of theatre from it's conception to performance. We will also be taking the opportunity to discuss all things theatrical - from reviewing shows we have seen to discussing other projects that we are also involved in. We hope you find something of interest!-

I thought the exhibition was great and the gallery was fantastic! I also rather enjoyed the cheese platter!
